American actor Patrick Muldoon, is one of the lesser known. He manages to keep himself out of the media as much as possible, but don’t let that fool you, Muldoon has been in Hollywood for over two decades. He is best known for being the first actor to star as Austin Reed on one of America’s most popular sitcoms, a role he returned to in 2011 after a 16-year hiatus. Muldoon was born as William Patrick Muldoon III on September 27, 1968 in Los Angeles, California, United States, to Deanna and William Patrick Muldoon II. Her mother worked as a housewife while her father was a personal injury lawyer. Patrick is of Croatian origin for his mother, while for his father he has Irish roots. Although Patrik has American nationality, he never hesitates to identify with his Irish roots whenever he gets the chance. He is a strong supporter of MMA fighter, Conor McGregor from Ireland.
Growing up, Pat loved a lot of things among them, football, music and all things art. He attended Loyola High School in Los Angeles, after which he went to the University of Southern California. At USC, Patrick played college football for the school team, the USC Trojans football team. He was also a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity.
With looks that made many ladies swoon, Patrick sought a career in modeling while still in college. He signed with Wilhelmina Modeling and it didn’t take long for big names like Calvin Klein to call him. Simultaneously, Pat began auditioning for film roles and wrote small roles in TV shows such as Who’s the Boss?, Saved by the Bell and Silk Stalkings.
Muldoon’s big break came right after two years in the industry when he starred as Austin Reed on Days of Our Lives, years have passed and that role remains his starring role.
Pat portrayed the play for three consecutive years winning a Soap Opera Digest Award for Best New Actor. He left the show in 1995 to play the role of Richard Hart in Melrose Place and also to pursue film roles. Responding to the latter, Pat had a role in the sci-fi action film Starship Troopers (1997). Over the next few years, Patrick became a mainstay of independent cinema while appearing in a number of TV shows and movies.
On the music side, Muldoon is the frontman and guitarist for rock band The Sleeping Masses, who in 2010 released a music video for their single “The Woman is the Way.” Muldoon continues to stick to indie/TV films which he takes the time to promote on his social media. Speculation that he might be gay began to rise as the media announced that he would play half of a gay couple in Joshua Tunick’s ‘For Better or Worse’. It was in 2008 and the film was released two years later, in 2010. The gay role was announced, Muldoon would be in a relationship with Eve Mauro. Before that, Muldoon had been associated with a handful of women from Tori Spelling to Denise Richards and Stacy Sanches.
Among all, his relationship with Denise Richards was the most well-known. It started around 1998 when they officially formed the couple at the premiere of Nicole Kidman’s film, Eyes Wide Shut.
