Joseph Day Obituary – Cliff Accident: In loving memory of New Zealander found dead in the Avon Gorge in Bristol.
A New Zealander’s death, whose body was discovered in Bristol’s Avon Gorge, was a “terrible accident,” according to his family.
31-year-old construction worker Joseph Day went missing from his Clifton Road house on April 30, but his body was discovered in the river on May 3.
The body was later officially identified as Mr. Day. Police carried on their investigation while turning the case over to the Avon Coroner.
Mr. Day, a veteran cinematographer for TVNZ in New Zealand, and his partner relocated to Bristol in January. His family called his passing a “terrible accident” in a statement.
