Siegfried And Roy Net Worth $120 million
In his childhood, Siegfried bought a magic book and started performing magic tricks. He moved to Italy in 1956 and worked at a hotel, eventually performing on the ship TS Bremen. Roy, on the other hand, had a keen interest in animals from a young age and familiarized himself with exotic animals due to a family acquaintance who owned Bremen Zoo. Their significant act during this time involved bringing a live cheetah to the ship, which gained them popularity and propelled their career.
The owner of the Astoria Theatre in Germany witnessed their act and invited them to perform at her nightclub, leading to multiple nightclub invites across Europe. They gained renown for including tigers in their act, and in 1967 they were invited by Tony Azzie to perform in Las Vegas. Their success in Las Vegas led to an international tour, taking them from Japan to Radio City. They returned to Las Vegas in 1990, performing at the Mirage hotel until 2003, and their act became the basis of the short-lived television series “Father of the Pride.”
During one of their shows at the Mirage in 2003, Roy was bitten by a seven-year-old tiger named Mantecore, resulting in severe blood loss and hospitalization due to a stroke. Despite public assumptions about the tiger attacking Roy, the duo defended the tiger, revealing that it was trying to carry Roy to safety and accidentally severed an artery by biting him. This incident left Roy partially paralyzed and led to the closure of their show. Their final appearance in February 2009 featured a show with Mantecore, broadcasted on the ABC show “20/20”. The duo retired a year later, and Mantecore passed away in March 2014.
They are known to have spent a considerable amount of time in Puerto Rico and are rumored to own property in the country.
