A man has been taken into custody for the act of digging up a reported gravesite of Kobe Bryant and daughter Gianna Bryant.
In February, Dailymail revealed that the gravesite in Newport Beach is where Kobe and Gigi were laid to rest.
However, last Friday, a man was apprehended and placed in handcuffs for allegedly attempting to excavate the gravesite.
MTO reported that “the man sneaked onto the private gravesite with tools and began digging. Police stated that the man peeled back the grass and commenced digging, reaching a considerable depth into the ground.”
The publication has now released “exclusive images” depicting police apprehending the man and documenting the crime scene.
The individual, who remains unidentified, was observed wearing knee pads and carrying equipment that he used to excavate the area where he believed Kobe and Gianna had been interred.
“He seemed to concentrate his efforts on a particular corner of the area, and what seemed to be rectangular cutting marks were visible through the grass,” the publication adds.
